LC PARALLEL RESONANT CIRCUIT ~ fr = — L = — Rw C = —
In a parallel LC tank circuit, L and C are connected in parallel. At resonance, XL = XC and the impedance is maximum (opposite to series). The Q-factor measures energy stored vs. energy dissipated per cycle — a higher Q means a sharper frequency response. Rw is the winding resistance of the inductor that limits Q. Tank circuits are used in RF oscillators, bandpass filters, and antenna tuners.
